Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about using our tax calculator and understanding your results.

What is CTC vs in-hand salary?
CTC (Cost to Company) is the total amount your employer spends on you including salary, PF, gratuity, and benefits. In-hand salary is what you actually receive in your bank account after deductions like PF, professional tax, and income tax.
How is PF calculated from CTC?
Employee PF is 12% of basic salary, capped at ₹1,800 per month (₹21,600/year) when basic exceeds ₹15,000/month. Employer also contributes 12% but that is part of CTC, not deducted from your in-hand.
